The Rising Sun was located in Russel Street according to an OS map of 1876. Thomas
Esworthy was resident in 1844.
The inn got a mention in the EFP on 30th November 1864 when James Lee (landlord) died. The City Brewery purchased the lease in 1878 and the freehold in 1880. The inn was completely wiped out in WW2 Stuart Callon Copyright ©2002 |
