Mount Pleasant Tavern is seen today as Henry's Bar. Was the Mount Pleasnt Inn until around 1995 when it was completely gutted, re-styled
and re-named.
The place issued checks between 1903 and 1921 when James Wheeler was resident and was the subject of a "to let" notice in the EFP 1st March 1876. It's origins were that of a beerhouse with Thomas Ronchetti running that type of establishement in 1850 according to White. Thomas Ronchetti is shown to be running the Mount Pleasant PH by 1853. His other occupation was that of barometer maker. Stuart Callon Copyright ©2002 |
